Threats to freshwater ecosystems include habitat loss, invasive species (plants and animals), consumptive water use, pollution and climate change.

Threat reduction activities can include:

  • Pest animal surveys and control.
  • Limiting access to stock, vehicles and other physical disturbances.
  • Litter management and removal.
  • Monitoring threats and evaluating management.

Here's a snapshot of just some of the action over the past 5 years. These numbers will grow as more groups from across the region contribute their data.
