Hedley Avenue | NUNDAH

davidson streetTHedley Avenue runs off directly into the Kedron Brook and is adjacent to a highly used open public space with significant foot traffic and limited shade cover.

In partnership with Brisbane City Council, Water by Design identified Hedley Avenue as a prime location for a water wise street tree demonstration site.

As part of this project, two water wise street trees were installed at target locations along Hedley Avenue.

These trees will help to capture and treat runoff before it reaches the waterway and once fully grown, will provide some much needed shade and cooling for this busy streetscape.

CUSP provided the concept design for the trees and OCCA delivered the on-ground works, which were completed in March 2023.

This project was supported by Healthy Land & Water, through funding from the Australian Government’s Environment Restoration Fund. Project partners included Brisbane City Council.
