Last month, Healthy Land & Water’s QFBC team partnered with our sister NRM group NQ Dry Tropics, to deliver property fire management planning workshops with landholders in the Upper Burdekin in North Queensland.
As part of one of our longstanding programs funded by Seqwater, we had the opportunity to trial a biostimulant to increase plant health and growth rates and more rapidly achieve our revegetation goals, especially in challenging areas. The team was impressed with the promising results, and it looks like this product will help boost our recipe for flood resilience and improved water quality.
On 12 June 2024, Healthy Land & Water hosted the successful Building Grazing Resilience Forum in Gatton, followed by the launch of a new Drought Node for South East Queensland.

Our Protecting Koala Program has an additional $800k to keep up the great work towards protecting this threatened species. Started last year, the program is protecting and restoring quality, extent, and connectivity of koala habitat, improving community engagement and knowledge, and monitoring koala numbers and distribution.
A terrific response to the series of Drought Resilience field days held last month at Oaky Creek, Mount Beppo and Ottaba, with over 90 people hearing from landholders and presenters about land management principles and practices to improve the health, sustainability and resilience of soils, pastures and crops, riparian areas and landscapes.
