EnergySQ: A free energy efficiency program for farm managers
If you manage a farm in Southern Downs, Western Downs, Toowoomba, Goondiwindi, Lockyer Valley or the Scenic Rim and want to reduce your energy spend and carbon footprint, a new energy efficient program, EnergySQ, has been developed for you.
This free initiative from Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF) is designed to help farmers understand and identify ways to reduce on-farm energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Participation is either individually or in a ‘cluster’ of farms in your local area.
The QFF has a great energy team, who is on hand to work with farmers to:
- Gather and collate energy bills (electricity and fuels) to determine energy related emissions.
- Complete a walk-through assessment to look for energy and greenhouse savings opportunities.
- Identify emissions from any other on-farm operations.
- Provide an Energy and Carbon Action Plan identifying tangible ways to reduce your energy consumption and lower your carbon emissions.
