Good news: Development approval received
We have some good news to share – we've received development approval for our proposed works along Kedron Brook! This is an important step forward that brings us closer to beginning the restoration work on the ground.
What does this mean for our project?
The detailed designs have been assessed by state departments to ensure works meet requirements for fish passage, flood modelling and impacts to local flora and fauna. This approval allows us to start preparing to complete Stage 3 of the project ahead of schedule and get ready for Stage 4*.
We're now moving full steam ahead on the final preparations, including:
- Securing the remaining council approvals and vegetation permissions.
- Finalising our detailed construction drawings and revegetation plans.
- Developing materials for the next stage, including evaluation and selection of suitable civil and revegetation contractors.
Community feedback continues to shape our work
The feedback we received from our recent meetings with landholders across the priority sites provided valuable insight. We're grateful for your continued engagement and the constructive feedback you've provided throughout this process.
What's next?
As we await the final approvals and move into the construction phase, our team will:
- Continue engaging with residents whose properties adjoin the priority work sites.
- Evaluate suitable contractors for civil and revegetation work.
- Continue our construction planning.
- Keep the community informed about project progress and timelines.
