Julie McLellan appointed to Committee for Brisbane's Olympic Sub-committee
This puts Julie into the thick of collaborating with other thought leaders and experts to shape up the artistic and cultural aspects of the 2032 Olympics and beyond.
The Creative Sub-committee is at its heart, focused on ensuring that the event becomes a platform for showcasing the vibrant diversity of South East Queensland (SEQ).
Julie’s dedication to promoting cultural diversity, inclusivity, community wellbeing, and the voice of First Nations made her an ideal appointee to the committee. Her work through Healthy Land & Water in recognising, valuing, and supporting the contributions of First Nations peoples in the environmental space is well-known throughout the region.
Under Julie's guidance, Healthy Land & Water has actively engaged with local Indigenous communities, fostering meaningful relationships and collaborations.
By empowering First Nations peoples through open dialogue and initiatives, our organisation has become a trusted partner in preserving and revitalising cultural practices.
Julie will also bring a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the importance of sustainable development from an integrated environmental, social, economic, and cultural perspective to the role. This expertise is an invaluable addition to the Committee as it strives towards its mission of creating a sustainable legacy for future generations.
