Leigh Gould, Senior Environmental Scientist

One of my primary research interest is the restoration of degraded habitats, with a particular focus on riparian landscapes. .

Leigh Gould joined the Catchment Management team as Senior Environmental Scientist. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Class 1 Honours) in Ecology and Conservation Biology.

Leigh is a quantitative aquatic ecologist with experience in multivariate statistics, Bayesian modelling and machine learning techniques. Leigh also has extensive knowledge of riparian restoration theory and practice for improved aquatic ecosystem health, and have experience analysing and interpreting large, longitudinal bio monitoring datasets.

She is also a PhD candidate with knowledge in the areas of plant and community ecology, restoration ecology, and statistics.

Much of Leigh's research is centred on understanding and communicating the conceptual basis of restoration ecology, which includes formulating theoretical frameworks to underpin hypothesis testing and restoration decision-making.
