Contributing a valuable perspective from Lockyer Valley Regional Council to the Healthy Land & Water's SEQ Catchments Members Association.
Cr Cheryl Steinhardt was elected at the March 2024 Local Government election and is serving her first term as Councillor.
Born and raised in the Lockyer Valley, Cr Steinhardt’s education and training are in administration, farming, business and governance. She has worked locally in various institutions and firms, been a primary producer for more than 40 years and owned and simultaneously operated several businesses.
She continues to serve on the Board of a Southeast Queensland not-for-profit organisation, where she governs in the heavily regulated sectors of schools, childcare centres, aged care and disability. She has also served respectfully throughout her life on numerous school, sporting and charitable committees.
Together with her talented and supportive husband, they have three married children and six grandchildren, all of whom live and/or work in the Lockyer Valley.
An honest, loyal and determined person, Cr Steinhardt is committed to working together with internal and external committees, the community and advocating for better infrastructure, honouring natural resources and demonstrating the Lockyer Valley’s beauty and diversity to all.
