High Efficiency Sediment Basin Day at Aura Stockland
In anticipation of the changes to the State Planning Policy, Healthy Land & Water hosted a High-Efficiency Sediment (HES) Basin Day at Aura Stockland and Caloundra Landfill with 60 attendees.
The event
The HES day provided a networking opportunity for local council representatives, consultants, utilities, contractors, Erosion and Sediment Control suppliers, and community catchment groups to collaborate on local projects.
Training on layout, design, and operation of the Type A and Type B sediment basins was provided to prepare attendees for the State Planning Policy changes. It is critical to provide information on how HES Basins work, and how best to implement them.
In response to the training, Aura Stockland will be converting multiple HES Basins into permanent wetland features which will continue to protect local endangered species.
