Free Grazing and Drought Recovery Management Session
Local landholders are invited to attend a free Grazing and Drought Recovery information session that will be held in Jimboomba on 29 February 2020.
The session will provide relevant advice and support to help landholders manage the current challenging seasonal conditions and provide information on recovery planning, animal health, and welfare and grazing management principles.

The Drought Recovery Management session, organised by Healthy Land & Water, the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF), and the Logan City Council will take place from 9 am – 1 pm on Saturday 29 February 2020 at the Jimboomba Community Centre.
Healthy Land & Water Senior Scientist, Bruce Lord, will be hosting the workshop and said the information sessions aim to provide some timely management advice and support for local landholders.
The information session will provide an overview of current Drought Relief Assistance available for farmers and outline opportunities to participate in future grazing land management and field days in South East Queensland,” he said.
DAF officer, Damien O’Sullivan will convey information on the current climate outlook, and in conjunction with Healthy Land & Water, lead discussions on animal health and welfare, livestock nutritional requirements, drought recovery planning, as well as key grazing land management principles to improve land condition and animal performance.

This session is supported through funding from the Queensland Government Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy’s Natural Resources Investment Program. Through the implementation of their Grazing Best Management Practices project. Healthy Land & Water is working with DAF to deliver a range of activities that include workshops, field days, and establishing demonstration sites to improve the capacity of landholders to adopt management practices that improve soil health and stability, land condition, and native vegetation to build the resilience and profitability of grazing businesses.
